Nintendo 3DS expected to ship in October
Nintendo 3DS could each the stores earlier than planned, i.e. in October this year instead of 2011, as it was promised. Sources from the British games field reveal that the new Nintendo console would gain at least three months in stores, as a probable release would be rather closer to Christmas than next year.
It seems that some developers have been granted access to the 3DS hardware or developer kits earlier, so that they could show off the console’s features in a possible Professor Layton game. However, representatives form Nintendo did not comment any of these rumours.
The official unveiling of the new console is scheduled for the E3 in June and is expected to be a spectacular jump in features and performance. Its main surprising feature is officially a dual 3D display that does not need any glasses and is possibly mad e by Sharp. Another expectation is the use of a dual-core NVIDIA Tegra chip that would be able to provide more advanced graphics although still running legacy DS games. Other strong features would be analog controls and force feedback.
